Position Title: Metal Printer
Department: Production / Printing
Reports To: Printing Supervisor / Production Manager
Location: UAE
Role Overview:
The Metal Printer is responsible for operating and maintaining metal sheet printing machines used
in the tin can manufacturing process. This role ensures accurate, high-quality printing on tinplate
sheets as per customer specifications while maintaining efficiency, safety, and production
standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate offset metal printing machines (e.g., CRABTREE, MAILANDER) for tinplate sheets used
in can making. - Prepare printing plates, inks, rollers, and tinplate sheets according to job specifications.
- Monitor print quality (registration, color matching, ink density, and image clarity) and make
necessary adjustments. - Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of printing machinery.
- Ensure compliance with production schedules, minimizing downtime and waste.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, ink usage, and quality checks.
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with quality control and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Assist in training junior operators or helpers when required.
Qualifications & Skills: - Education: Diploma / ITI / Technical certification in Printing Technology or related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience as a Metal Printer / Offset Printer, preferably in tin can or
packaging industry. - Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with offset printing process on tinplate.
- Knowledge of inks, coatings, varnishes, and curing processes.
- Understanding of color matching and print quality standards.
- Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude for machine adjustments.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Basic computer literacy for machine settings and reporting.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): - Printing accuracy and quality (color, registration, coating).
- Machine uptime and productivity.
- Waste reduction and ink utilization.
- Compliance with safety and quality standards.
