Job Summary
We are looking for a mid-level Hardware Executive to manage the organization’s end-to-end IT hardware infrastructure and provide reliable technical support to employees.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in hardware troubleshooting, end-user support, IT asset management, procurement planning, vendor coordination, inventory control, and budget management. The role will be responsible for ensuring maximum uptime of IT infrastructure while maintaining cost efficiency, compliance, and excellent user support.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure Management
- Manage and maintain the organization’s IT hardware infrastructure, including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, biometric devices, networking peripherals, and other IT assets.
- Ensure optimal performance, availability, and security of hardware devices.
- Coordinate the installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and replacement of IT equipment.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide first- and second-level technical support to employees.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, Windows OS, printer, peripheral, and connectivity-related issues.
- Ensure timely resolution of IT support requests within defined SLAs.
- Support software installation, system configuration, and user account setup.
IT Procurement & Planning
- Plan hardware procurement based on business requirements and future expansion.
- Prepare technical specifications and obtain quotations from vendors.
- Evaluate hardware options based on performance, lifecycle, reliability, and cost.
- Support annual IT hardware procurement planning and forecasting.
Vendor Management
- Coordinate with hardware vendors, OEMs, and service providers.
- Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs), warranties, and service requests.
- Track vendor performance and ensure timely service delivery.
- Support negotiation of pricing, service levels, and delivery timelines.
IT Asset & Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records of all IT assets throughout their lifecycle.
- Track asset allocation, movement, repair, replacement, and disposal.
- Conduct periodic physical verification and stock audits.
- Maintain adequate inventory of spare parts and consumables to minimize downtime.
Budget & Cost Control
- Assist in preparing and managing the annual IT hardware budget.
- Monitor procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Ensure cost-effective utilization of IT resources without compromising quality or performance.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain records of IT assets, warranties, purchase documents, service history, and related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies and audit requirements.
- Prepare periodic reports covering asset utilization, inventory, procurement, and IT support performance.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on knowledge of computer hardware, desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Good understanding of Windows OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including LAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, switches, and routers.
- Experience in IT asset management and inventory control.
- Understanding of IT procurement processes and vendor management.
- Ability to assist with hardware budgeting and cost analysis.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and employee/user support skills.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Hardware certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Relevant experience managing IT hardware infrastructure in a corporate environment will be preferred.
